Description
A natural variation of the coffee cherry, Brazilian Peaberry develops as a single, round seed rather than the typical two flat-sided beans. These small, dense beans are carefully separated from the harvest and roasted to bring out their naturally sweet, dried fruit, chocolatey soft finish.
This Brazilian Peaberry is a semi-washed coffee, where the cherry skin and most of the fruit is removed using a pulper, leaving some of the sticky mucilage around the bean. The coffee is then dried with the parchment still intact. Once fully dried, the parchment is removed during the milling process.
This coffee is a little different from our past Brazilian lots. Around the cupping table, we found a lighter body with a beautifully balanced combination of fruit and cocoa. It’s a smooth, approachable cup with just enough brightness to make it stand out.
