Locally Roasted Coffee
We pack all of our fresh roasted coffee beans in bags with a one-way degassing valve, which allows gas to escape without letting air in, keeping the beans fresher for longer. Coffee is at its best within two weeks of being roasted, although coffee is still good a month after.
Storing Coffee Beans
Proper storage of your fresh roasted coffee beans is key to maintaining their freshness. Keep your beans in an airtight container in a cool, dark place keeping them away from heat, light and moisture. Better yet, pick up a coffee canister with a de-gas valve next time you’re in the store. Avoid storing beans in the fridge or freezer as it can cause condensation which negatively affects the flavor.
Grind your beans as close to brewing time as possible. Once ground, coffee loses its freshness much faster. Grinding beans just before brewing helps maintain the freshness, aroma and flavor in your cup. If you don’t have a grinder at home, consider investing in one – it will make a noticeable difference to your brew. Enjoy!
